The LY-HDR36G D-ILA HDR system creates very bright peak-brightness and superior colour reproduction, making it an ideal solution for exterior or interior automotive lighting design. It saves a huge amount of time and cost for companies, since it’s able to simulate realistic lighting events without the need to build physical design samples.

    Technical Specifications

LY-HDR36G-4 - HDR Special Projection Unit

    Technical Specials
Cost reduction - innovation of engineering process
    • The system achieves comparable luminosity to prototypes with flare phenomenon
    • Displays simulation results in the actual luminance value
Creating images closer to reality - High Dynamic Range (HDR)
HDR (High Dynamic Range) refers to images where the dynamic range between bright areas and dark areas is wide. Cameras made in recent years have a wide dynamic range, but with typical displays, the dynamic
range that can be displayed is limited; therefore, true HDR images cannot be displayed. On the other hand, the dynamic range of JVC’s HDR Rear Projection System is wider than typical displays and is similar to a camera’s; therefore, it is possible to project a luster and details of dark areas simultaneously that could not be displayed before. With the maximum brightness of 4,500cd/m², you can experience the expression of images with a sense of reality close to the real thing.
The LY-HDR36G system, which is based on the dedicated DLA-HDR36G projector, has a wide contrast ratio
to build nearly 16 F-Stops. The image processing and colour reproduction goes up to DCI P3 colour gamut
level (normal HD is REC 709). The gamma needs to be adjusted for this type of image reproduction and this
dedicated projector uses PQ Gamma specification.
JVC uses dedicated optical wire-grid technology which reduces internal light reflection in the optical path.
In combination with the JVC D-ILA Direct-Image-Light-Amplifier, it reproduces natural images.
By using a non-glare screen, the system can be used in environments where front reflections could otherwise
disturb the image. Replacing the front screen on the LY-HDR36G system takes just seconds, so you can
change your screen without needing an engineer. The D-ILA HDR system can also be used for other
applications, such as video reference screening, or HDR museum object presentation.
    Optional:
    Calibration software
To deliver consistent quality or to match the screening system to specific needs, JVC supports
dedicated calibration software*. In combination with an X-Write or Minolta Colour Meter* you be able to
change your settings for different colour balance and specifications. The HDR LY-HDR36G offers a colour spec up to DCI P3. Also different Gamma settings are available, like Gamma 1.8/2.2/2.6, etc..
